Extra-Curricular Activities Photography

Extra-curricular activities are such an integral part of school and college life, showcasing the diverse opportunities available to students beyond the classroom. Whether it’s the Combined Cadet Force (CCF), the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), or a range of sporting fixtures, these activities build confidence, resilience, and teamwork—and deserve to be captured with dynamic, engaging photography.

Each activity has its unique rhythm and style, and capturing it effectively requires skill, experience, and a tailored approach. My background in sports photography, including work with Premiership Football teams, has provided me with a solid foundation to photograph a wide variety of sports and activities, from rugby and cricket to fencing, swimming, and athletics. Years of practice have taught me how to anticipate the best moments, find the right angles, and deliver images that convey the energy and passion of every event.

The Energy of Sport

Sports photography is all about freezing moments of action, whether it’s a perfectly executed pass, a goal celebration, or the determination on an athlete’s face. Each sport brings its unique demands and nuances, and knowing how to work with light, movement, and perspective is key to creating powerful, impactful imagery.

Capturing the Spirit of Adventure

Activities like CCF training and DofE expeditions bring their own challenges and rewards. Whether it’s cadets mastering drills, students scaling a hill on a hike, or a group collaborating to set up camp, these are moments that showcase leadership, teamwork, and personal growth. Photographing these activities is about being present and responsive while staying out of the way to let the story unfold naturally.

I aim to capture the grit, determination, and camaraderie of students as they take on challenges and embrace adventure. From action-packed shots of climbing and kayaking to quieter moments of reflection and teamwork, these images highlight the life skills students gain through these programs.
