The Ice Queen

I had an idea to try and create a liquid crown / outfit for an ice queen.

Creating such small splashes proved problematic and we went through a variety of cups, saucers, bowls and spoons trying to create the right effect. Getting the right splashes on hair didn’t work how I had hoped as it the milk had to be thrown hard to get a splash and that would then push the hair into her face so the ended up doing alll the splashes on the back of her head.

I really liked the neck splashes and the angles they created that became the top of her clothing.

The long thick eyelashes were meant to look frozen and cold which I think worked well too but I will always be annoyed that we couldnt get the splashes on her hair working as well as I had hoped.

It was a fun shoot despite the poor model not having a shower and having to get home on the bus smelling of milk (I haven’t made that mistake again and yes she has forgiven me - although she definitely hasn’t forgotten!)
