DFphotography - Headshots, studio and environmental portrait photography

A huge part of portrait photography is down to the lighting and knowing how different lighting can give a totally different feel to the portrait. But it is also a lot more than the lighting. It can be very intimidating to stand in front of a camera with big lights and studio equipment adding to the feeling of intimidation. So it is down to the photographer to work with the model to relax them and find a pose that works best for each person.

I find that much of my time is spent talking to people to help build up a rapport before I even lift my camera up to my eye.

Charities, blue chip companies, magazines and newspapers will often request an environmental portrait to show a scientist in a lab, a business person in the office or a person in their own home.
